We found out that the cron daemon doesn’t execute scripts in the following directories root@m8203:/etc/init.d> rpm -ql cronie /etc/cron.daily /etc/cron.deny /etc/cron.hourly /etc/cron.monthly /etc/cron.weekly But when we add a script in one of these pre-defined directories it is not executed by crond.
