The fix to LIN6-10049 added a bashism. This no longer builds on a system with /usr/bin/sh pointing to dash.
Apply attached patch to layers/oe-core after a project is configured.
On a system where: (i.e. Ubuntu 14.04) ls -l /bin/sh produces: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root /bin/sh -> dash /wrs-cki71/common/lx6/wrlinux-6/wrlinux/configure --enable-rootfs=glibc-small --enable-board=intel-x86-64 --enable-parallel-pkgbuilds=6 --enable-jobs=6 --enable-multilib=lib32 --enable-unsupported-toolchain=wr-pro-source --enable-reconfig --with-rcpl-version=0026 make export-sdk The error produced is: lx1/bitbake_build/tmp/sysroots/x86_64-linux/usr/sbin/update-rc.d: 63: /wrs-cki71/sandbox/ckrumme/wrl6/j906/lx1/bitbake_build/tmp/sysroots/x86_64-linux/usr/sbin/update-rc.d: Bad substitution The offending line is: pref=${fname:0:1} Offset:length only works in bash.
