configure finds sed, and it probably does not matter if it uses /bin/sed instead of our version. However, the recipe for binutils-crosssdk invokes "sed" directly and this can fail if sed-native is being installed to sysroot when the call is made.
Build sed-native before any binutils package.
Too difficult to try, but the failure was observed in at least one nightly build and the log shows sed-native being installed while binutils-crosssdk was being built. You can also cleansstate for binutils and sed-native, then build binutils and see that sed-native is not built first.
