customer has found that occasionally a shutdown or reboot fails for wrlinux 4.2 on the Eurotech and Intel Crown Bay.
Note there are some interesting details.
- this has been seen on both the Eurotech and Intel Crown bay boards
- the intel emgd 1.10 driver needs to be enable with accelation
- the usb keyboard must be detached
- X windows must be allowed to fully start before shutdown
- the occurrence is random depending on the build. 20+ reboots, other times 50+
A workaround involving EMGD 1.14 and some X11 changes was provided
A testcase is provided with the configure command line and required layers provided by the customer. Presently the layers are configure with an /etc/inittabStartup.sh that starts up x windows, sleeps for 15 seconds and then reboots the card.
To reproduce this, use the attached script to build a platform project on wrlinux 4.2, burn the iso to a USB stick, and power up. The board with cycle through reboots until finally freezing in the middle of a shutdown in INIT.
