Glusterfs fails on do_configure with the following error:

checking for /usr/bin/python extension module directory... ${exec_prefix}/lib64/python2.4/site-packages
checking if python is python 2.x... 2.4
checking if python has ctypes support... no
configure: error: python does not have ctypes support
The error seems to have some bearing on the build host:
