LIN1024-9992 : Security Advisory - linux - CVE-2025-38080

Created: Jun 19, 2025    Updated: Jun 20, 2025
Found In Version: 10.24.33.1
Severity: Standard
Applicable for: Wind River Linux LTS 24
Component/s: Kernel

Description

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:EOL][EOL]drm/amd/display: Increase block_sequence array size[EOL][EOL][Why][EOL]It's possible to generate more than 50 steps in hwss_build_fast_sequence,[EOL]for example with a 6-pipe asic where all pipes are in one MPC chain. This[EOL]overflows the block_sequence buffer and corrupts block_sequence_steps,[EOL]causing a crash.[EOL][EOL][How][EOL]Expand block_sequence to 100 items. A naive upper bound on the possible[EOL]number of steps for a 6-pipe asic, ignoring the potential for steps to be[EOL]mutually exclusive, is 91 with current code, therefore 100 is sufficient.
