Found In Version: 10.24.33.7
Fix Version: 10.24.33.13
Severity: Standard
Applicable for: Wind River Linux LTS 24
Component/s: Build & Config
1) Clone Wind River Linux, Intel-x86-64 BSP, for LTS22 and LTS24
2) Create a platform project
./wrlinux-x/setup.sh --machine intel-x86-64 --all-layers --dl-layers=1
3) Source the environment and build rpm recipe
bitbake rpm
4) Check the macros files in the tmp/work folder
# LTS22
less /build/tmp-glibc/work/corei7-64-wrs-linux/rpm/1_4.17.1-r0/recipe-sysroot-native/usr/lib/rpm/macros
# LTS24
less /build/tmp-glibc/work/corei7-64-wrs-linux/rpm/4.19.1.1/recipe-sysroot-native/usr/lib/rpm/macros
While transitioning from LTS22 to LTS24, found an issue with the "rpm" recipe and how it is setting the macro value for RM command.
The LTS22 version is built using autotools and make, and the LTS24 version is now built with CMake, which isn't picking up rm correctly.
CMakeCache.txt:__RM:FILEPATH=__RM-NOTFOUND
# The results in some default in the macros:
%__rm /usr/bin/rm
They consider they correct rm should be /bin/rm as seem from LTS22 build (which uses make), and not /usr/bin/rm.
./config.log:__RM='/bin/rm'
Found a change in how the __rm macro is being set between the versions.
