The Rolling Cumulative Patch Layer (RCPL) was developed by Wind River to simplify patch management of Wind River Linux. The expected usage is that customers install the latest RCPL for their release. Base Wind River Linux 5.0.1 + Wind River Linux OVP 5.0.1 + RCPL is the default supported configuration. Please install this RCPL at your earliest convenience.
This release of OVP (5.0.1.18) in particular contains an on target orchestrator framework and API (namely ovirt) and the guest OS live migration capability (again implemented via ovirt) across cores and across nodes.
Wind River Linux 5.0.1.18 is a prerequisite install. General information about RCPL 18 for Wind River Linux can be found in the README file linked on the Wind River Linux 5.0.1.18 page and should be reviewed prior to installation.
Requires Wind River Linux 5.0.1 to be installed Requires Wind River Linux Open Virtualization Profile 5.0.1 to be installed.
Wind River Linux OVP 5.0.1.18 is now only available via Electronic Software Distribution (ESD) method accessible via the Wind River Installation Tool (wrInstaller) available within your product installation.
Step 1 - Prepare
Step 2 - Install
PLEASE NOTE
If you're having connectivity (firewall or network setup) issues, Wind River allows you to run the wrInstaller on a machine with Internet connectivity by downloading this update pack into a convenient location and then installing the content back onto the development machine. Follow these instructions:
Retrieve the executable from here: Linux
Launch the executable (example: ./setup_linux32) with the following options:
-download -sdf http://updates.windriver.com/repos/wrlinux/wrlinux-5.0/wrlinux-5.0-rcpl.repos
Copy the download folder to the other host machine and run setup.
On Windows hosts, you may notice some errors in the "setup.log" around "readlink" and "uninstall_mgr.sh". These messages can be ignored as they do not affect the running of the product. If though you should decide to un-install the product, there may be some error messages about changed files which the Installer will not remove. In this case, you can simply remove the remaining files and the installation directory manually.
For Linux, change the permission (example: chmod a+x setup_Linux32)
