This file highlights changes to the product made in RCPLs that may be of interest to the user. The features are grouped by the RCPL in which they were made available. BSP specific changes are located in the BSP section. 6.0.0.15: We plant to sync up yocto 3.10.x kernel stable tree in 6.0.1.17 FYI http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/linux-yocto-3.10/ 6.0.0.14: 1) Security issues update The 2 critical vulerabilities "SSLv3 POODLE" and "bash shellshock" have been fixed in 6.0.0.13. 6.0.0.13: New features are added: 1) Upgrade Yocto 3.10.55 kernel stable 2) Support for DMA CMA on x86_64 BSP 3) Support for asian Xwindow fonts in sato fs Note: except for ttf-vlgothic, other fonts are built by default in sato fs. Due to commercial license, we only add bb file for ttf-vlgothic. In order to building it, you need to add following options in your project configration. --with-license-flags- whitelist=commercial,--enable-internet-download=yes Note: A known LIN6-8628 hasn't been fixed yet, that will cause a build error, so you need to apply a patch after upgrading 6.0.0.13 https://support.windriver.com/olsPortal/faces/maintenance/downloadDetails.jspx?contentId=044439&_adf.ctrl-state=nj03za9be_19 6.0.0.12: We plan add two new features in 6.0.0.13 1) Support for asian Xwindow fonts in sato fs 2) Support for DMA CMA on x86_64 BSP 6.0.0.11: We plant to sync up yocto 3.10.43 kernel stable tree in 6.0.1.13 FYI http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/linux-yocto-3.10/ 6.0.0.7 a) Upgrade linux kernel We sync up with the kernel with yocto 3.10 stable tree. The previous kernel version is 3.10.19, current version is 3.10.38. FYI http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/linux-yocto-3.10/ b) Two new features i) Export sources To use the feature, add "--with-template=feature/archiver" to your configuration For example: $ wrlinux-x/wrlinux/configure --enable-board=qemux86-64 --enable-rootfs=glibc_cgl \ --enable-kernel=cgl --enable-unsupported-config=yes --enable-parallel-pkgbuilds=8 \ --enable-jobs=8 --with-template=feature/archiver For more details, please reference: Installdir/wrlinux-6/layers/wr-base/templates/feature/archiver/README ii) WR Installer Before using the feature, please review the README file in the wr-installer layer. The README file contains instructions on how to use these features, general information. FYI: Please checkout the wr-install to see the README file $git clone Installdir/wrlinux-6/layers/wr-installer $cd wr-installer $ls README installer.md Following known defects related to Installer haven't been fixed yet, but they don't impact the base function of installer. We plan to fix them in subsequence RCPLs. 1) LIN6-7314: installer: the text ui progress bar doesn't move on # This only affects the TEXT UI, the intall goes on, but the # progress bar doesn't move on 2) LIN6-7515: udev was not started if /tmp is on a separate partition at first boot. # If the /tmp is put on a separate patition, then the udev doesn't # start at the first boot, it would be OK in the second boot, we # need fix it from the oe-core layer in next RCPL. 3) LIN6-7512: failed when reuse /dev/sda1 as the EFI BOOT # If there was a /dev/sda1 which was EFI, and you use it as the EFI # BOOT and choose to format it again, then there would be errors, we # suggest use a new partition as the EFI BOOT, atm. Will fix it # in next RCPL. 4) LIN6-7509: wr-installer does not support dual boot # If there is already an OS on the disk (for example, Ubuntu), # the bootloader can't generate a boot entry for it after installed, # Not very sure when we need do this in RCPL 8. 5) LIN6-7522: hangs when installing intel-x86-32 ISO on Watnul_Conyon 6) Exception has occurred when resize disk # If you remount the partition from one directory to another and # resize it, there maybe problems, please do not try to # resize the disk atm. 7) LIN6-7400: aufs au_warn_loopback appears during installation # It happens when do the image based intalls, it is harmless, kernel # related, won't fix it atm, P4. 6.0.0.6 a) We plan to add mariadb 5.5.73 in 6.0.0.7, because mariadb 5.1.x series hasn't been maintained for more than one year, which causes many CVE issues can't be fixed in time. And we keep the mariadb 5.1.67 as the default package. If you want to apply mariadb 5.5.73, configure with --with-template=feature/mariadb5173. b) The wr-installer feature is under developing and will be done in 6.0.0.7, so it can't be used until in 6.0.0.6 yet. c) We plan to upgrade kernel from 3.10.19 to 3.10.38 in BSP Updates: 6.0.0.17: fsl-p10xx: Add fsl-p10xx support intel-quark: Add intel-quark support 6.0.0.16: amd-steppeeagle: Add amd-steppeeagle support 6.0.0.15: cav-octeon3: Cavium OCTEON III (CN78xx) - SDK 3.1.1 GA Release Rebase 6.0.0.13: cav-octeon3: Add Cavium 78XX support 6.0.0.12 xilinx-zynq: Add the Mini-ITX board support 6.0.0.11 ti-am437x: Ti Sitara AM437x ti-am57xx: Ti Sitara AM57xx fsl-t2xxx: BSP fsl-t2xxx support SDK 1.6 fsl-b4xxx: BSP fsl-b4xxx support SDK 1.6 fsl-t4xxx: BSP fsl-t4xxx support SDK 1.6 fsl-e500mc : BSP fsl-t2xxx support SDK 1.6 6.0.0.8 xilinx_zynq: Add zc702 and microzed board support for xilinx_zynq bcm-563xx: add new Broadcom BCM56340 6.0.0.7 xilinx_zynq: Add preempt-rt support Add the Intel Haswell-EX support on the intel-x86 BSP 6.0.0.6 xilinx_zynq: Add new async BSP xilinx_zynq for 6.0 and support zc706 fsl-imx6: FSL i.MX6 (support SABRE SD, SABRE AI) cav-octeon3: Add new async BSP cav-octeon3 6.0.0.4: bcm-xlp: bcm-xlp xlp9xx support 6.0.0.3: fsl-t4xxx: USDPAA & BSP fsl-t4xxx for FSL SDK 1.5 ti-am335x: TI AM335x EVM fsl-e500mc: update fsl-p10xx to FSL SDK 1.4 and also add support for p1024rdb 6.0.0.2: Intel Haswell: UPDATE intel-x86 (Add Grantley-EP support) lsi-axm55xx: UPREV LSI AXM55xx (Cortex-A15)
