Description

This file contains five permission sets for the following Helix Device Cloud roles:

• Developer: Develops device applications using the agent APIs or develops cloud applications using the Platform REST APIs.
• Support Engineer: Performs the initial diagnostic steps for customer support requests.
• Field Service Engineer: Diagnoses and repairs equipment deployed in the field.
• Software Release Engineer: Uploads and deploys software patches and updates to the field.
• Cloud Rules Developer: Creates rules for automating, monitoring, notifying, and responding to device information and events.
• View Only: Monitors the overall status of the system.

Installation Notes

1. Download the permissionsset_examples.xml file.

• You may need to right-click and select Save link as.

1. Log in to the administration utility at https://admin.helixdevicecloud.com with your administrator user name and password.

2. Select Menu > Permission Sets.

3. On the Permission Sets page, click Import.

4. On the Import Permission Sets page, click Browse and navigate to the folder where you downloaded the file.

5. Choose an option to handle duplicates.

• If you choose Keep existing, existing permission sets with the same name appear as permissionsetName (imported).
• If you choose Replace existing, existing permission sets appear with the same name, but the selections now match the imported permission sets.

1. Click OK.

The imported permission sets appear in the left panel. Ensure that you click the permission set name before you start making changes.
