Description

We have the following report on syslog-ng crash:

1 – trace.docx

2 – initial analysis by Cisco points to changes most likely introduce in afsql-afsql_dd_insert_db-refactor.patch

3 – There are a number of bug fixes in https://github.com/balabit/syslog-ng.

We are hitting issues where syslog-ng crashes. This seems to be related to I/O errors causing an eventual double free, which crashes syslog-ng. It should be noted that this is a high priority bug for Comcast, as it is being seen more frequently and causes core dumps.

We think this occurs because of changes in the WR7 version of syslog-ng versus the original version (available on Github). I have attached diffs to http://endets.cisco.com/CSCvd63740 and Lawrence has attached a core decode showing where the problem arises.

Can you take a quick look at this and let me know what you think could be the solution and/or any info that you might need. In between, I will try testing this tomorrow as well. If you get to it before tomorrow it will be great.
