Component/s: Networking

This issue occurs on the board ALTERA CYCLONE V SOCFPGA.

ping does not succeed by 100% loss when its option for packet sizes is 4043 and 8972. This issue occurs even though MTU size of both machines is 9000.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create a new Platform Project with the following configure options.

--enable-board=altera-socfpga --enable-bootimage=jffs2,tar.bz2,cpio.gz --enable-build=production --enable-kernel=standard+cfg/fs/flash_fs.scc --enable-rootfs=glibc_std

2. Build the project and boot the target.
3. Configure MTU of the host to 9000.
  - Open network interface properties.
  - Select Advanced tab.
  - Select Jumbo Packet property, and select its value to 9014 Bytes.
  - Open command prompt, and Invoke the following command on it.
    > netsh interface ipv4 set interface <ID of interface> mtu=9000

4. Configure MTU the target to 9000 by invoking the following commands on the target.
  # ifconfig eth0 down
  # ifconfig eth0 mtu 9000
  # ifconfig eth0 up

5. Invoke the following ping command on the target, and "100% loss" occurs.
  # ping <host's IP address> -s 4043

6. Invoke the following ping commands on the host, and "100% loss" occurs.
  > ping <target's IP address> -f -l 4043
  > ping <target's IP address> -f -l 8972
