Severity: Severe
Applicable for: Wind River Linux 5
Component/s: BSP

Customer was experiencing some suspend to mem issues on their Tunnel Creek based HW platform. It was later reproduced using a simplified script that starts LTTng tracing before suspending to mem.

LTTng is the trigger here as it's not reproducible without it.

Steps to Reproduce

/home/wruser/lx43/wrlinux-4/wrlinux/../ldat/configure --enable-board=intel_atom_eg20t_pch --enable-kernel=standard --enable-rootfs=glibc_std+power_management --with-ldat-cache-dir=/home/wruser/lx43/workspace/ldat-cache/ --with-rcpl-version=0007 --with-layer=/home/wruser/TSR/1205958/pm_layer,/home/wruser/TSR/layer-intel-emgd-1.14 --with-template=/home/wruser/TSR/1205958/pm_layer/templates/feature/power_management,feature/dri,/home/wruser/TSR/layer-intel-emgd-1.14/templates/intel-emgd --with-product-dir=/home/wruser/lx43/wrlinux-4/wrlinux

#ensure you have a valid xorg.conf in the ./export/dist/etc/X11 directory otherwise the EMGD driver will hang at suspend.
#make usb-image

Plug the usb key in the Emerson NITX-315 board and execute the following test.

NOTE: It is only reproducible after a fresh boot. it seems if I run a few simple suspend to mem tests and then attempt to run LTTng + suspend to mem it doesn't exhibit the same failure.

NOTE: press the S2 power switch to resume, board hangs at this point.

#cat /tmp/
/usr/bin/wrsv-lttconfig -a
/usr/bin/wrsv-lttctl -s -rflight -t /trace/log1 -l 4 -m 4 -h 2
echo "mem" > /sys/power/state
